Your art matters. But it’s easy to forget this.

Tell me if this sounds like you:

YOU FEEL:

Burned out - you have a hard time staying consistent in your practice with bills, life, and self-doubt getting in the way.
Scattered - you have a lot of ideas but struggle to go deep in your work and make work that feels like YOURS.
Isolated -  you feel disconnected from other artists who are like you.

YOU WANT TO FEEL:

Confident - about your practice, your ideas, and where you're going.
Purposeful - in your creative goals, and supported in achieving them!
Connected-  to other down-to-earth artists who understand your struggle.

If this is where you’re at, Keep Going Club is for you. KGC helps you remember WHY you make art and gives you the tools to keep going.

Making art is a long game. One that requires resilience, reflection, and support. Keep Going Club offers a space to reconnect with your creative goals and build sustainable habits for your practice.

Each month, join artist and coach Christine Garvey for a live group coaching session designed to help you gain clarity, overcome self-doubt, and stay accountable to your work.

You’ll also have access to online tools, videos, and a growing community of artists who are committed to showing up for their art and for each other.

Curious about our online class library? Here’s a taste:

Identifying your Creative Blocks
Identify your creative roadblocks and learn what’s holding you back from making the things you want to make. We’ll identify 5 common roadblocks and how you can overcome them. Through this process you’ll take helpful steps in redefining your creative path and identifying your values.

How to Generate Ideas
This workshop will discuss how to generate new ideas in your creative practice through setting "enabling constraints." Enabling constraints are conditions that allow us to play with a sense of purpose and protection. The workshop will identify 3 ways to establish constraints using the 3Ms - the material, the multiple, and the mirror.

Talking and Writing about your Work
Being able to clearly communicate your motivations to others is important. Writing and speaking about your work in an accessible way is essential for creating exhibition, funding, and partnership opportunities. In this workshop we'll give you foundational tools in this arena.

Your Creative Ambition: How to set and reach creative goals
In this worksop, we'll learn about 4 common goal-setting pitfalls. We’ll teach you how to set and reach your creative goals using the framework: VISION> SEASON> GOALS> ACTIONS.

Finding and Creating Opportunities for your work
We talk about finding and creating opportunities for your work. What is a good opportunity for YOU and your specific goals? How do you tackle low-hanging fruit vs. over-engaging in lottery systems (i.e. expensive open calls)? Find out more in this class.

“In addition to providing a ready made community of interesting and invigorating artists, Christine’s coaching workshops bring a structure to what is normally a lonely and entirely self-motivated activity.

As much as we might all hate the thought of homework,
the gentle pressure of goal-making and meeting produces results—you move forward in your artistic practice. Plus, it’s fun. “

The goal setting, accountability and support were critical to my creative development this year. I highly recommend A Mighty Practice to anyone looking to prioritize their creative work.

- Lesley A.

In 2020, I created a Mighty Practice because I saw so many artists facing the same challenges:

Artists who want to develop their voices, but are overcome with self-doubt.
Artists who want to engage in thoughtful discussion about making things, but lack community.
Artists who want their creative work to be more central to their lives, but can’t manage to find the time or energy for it.

But most importantly, I saw artists who wanted to take their creative work seriously, to actualize their ideas, and going back to “art school” wasn’t realistic.

Since then, I’ve coached hundreds of creatives through the ups and downs of their practices. I’ve helped artists create new work after years of feeling stuck, quit their jobs to start creative careers, and secure big opportunities like residencies and grants.
