A 12-week program that helps emerging artists overcome their roadblocks, find time for their creative work, and get serious about making their art.
Next session:
Wednesdays, September 24th - December 10th
12pm - 1pm cst
Why does it feel so hard to keep up with our painting practice, write our book, or finish our album?
When we’re creatively blocked, it can feel like we don’t have the time, energy, or confidence to make our art.
In reality, what you really need is a PROCESS for developing your ideas.
When you have a process for developing your ideas, things get a lot simpler.
You know what you’re focusing on.
You get less overwhelmed.
You can place the inner critic aside.
You let your ideas grow and get expressed vs. fester inside of you.
That’s where this program comes in.
“After years of spinning around an artistic practice, sometimes fruitful and sometimes not, I finally feel like I have a process. The tools and guidance that Christine offers, grounded in curiosity rather than criticism, are tools for a lifetime of practice. I wholeheartedly recommend this program.”
- Jessie T.
What is the process we teach?
At AMP, we teach the creative process as happening within 5 distinct phases:
CLEAR - PLAY - FUEL - GENERATE - REFLECT
The Clear stage is about preparing.
Play is about testing.
Fuel is about informing.
Generate is about making.
Reflect is about reviewing and considering where to go next .
When you're stuck in your creative work, it's because you’re spending too much time at a particular stage, instead of moving through to the next stage.
Over 12-weeks, we’ll move through the five stages of the creative process.
Each week you will have a specific assignment as it relates to the stage we’re in (i.e. Clear= getting ready, Play = experimenting etc.). Through video lessons, readings, and discussion you’ll learn key concepts around developing a creative process that works for you.
“If you are an artist, at all familiar with the art of self-sabotage, Christine's Coaching Program will undoubtedly serve you well. Christine cultivates a space that nourishes your artistic impulses and provides a structured avenue through which to identify and dismantle your creative blockages, build a sustainable practice, and ultimately reclaim the joy that art-making brings you.
She manages to create a sense of accountability without being harsh or disciplinarian, and her humor and dedication make the entire process feel natural and grounded. Christine's insights and guidance, alongside the camaraderie you will share with your cohort, are invaluable gifts for anyone who yearns to honor the capacity they have within them to play and to create.”

You don’t have to figure this out alone. The Creative Momentum Program gives you the support, resources, and accountability so you can finally GO DEEP in your creative work.
Here’s the format:
The program combines a weekly 1-hour group call with individual coaching sessions to give participants a balance of group conversation and individual attention.
Group Coaching
Each week participants will meet on a 1-hour group coaching call. In this session we’ll review the HW assignment, talk through key concepts, and address your creative challenges from the past week.
During our 1-hour coaching call we’ll emphasize small group discussion so you can get to know your peers. You’ll connect with a small group to share ideas and challenges within your practice.
Individual Coaching
In addition to our group calls, you’ll have (2) 30-minute individual coaching sessions with Christine. This call can be scheduled at your convenience, at any time during the month. On this call you can discuss your roadblocks around key concepts, get feedback on your work, or set a vision for your practice.

Get to know your coach
Hey there! I’m Christine Garvey, an artist, coach, and the founder of A Mighty Practice.
In 2020, I created a Mighty Practice, because I saw so many artists facing the same challenges:
Artists who want to develop their voices, but are overcome with self-doubt. Artists who want to engage in thoughtful discussion about making things, but don't know where to find it.
But more importantly, they want to take their creative work seriously, to actualize their ideas, and going back to “art school” isn’t an option.
Since then, I’ve coached hundreds of creatives through the ups and downs of their practices. I’ve helped artists create new work after years of feeling stuck, quit their jobs to start careers in the arts, and secure big opportunities like residencies and grants.
If you’re ready to get out of your own way, let’s work together!

”Christine's Creative Momentum program created a mini-community of trust where I felt I could talk through my most destructive creative blocks. Not only was it incredibly useful to learn Christine's tips and practices for getting out of a rut, but I learned a lot from the other artists in the class as well, which encouraged me to push through and just make stuff.”
